What to expect in 2024 Canada Express entry?
The Immigration Levels Plan for the years 2024 to 2026 has been released, which states that Canada will welcome 110,000 new permanent residents through Express Entry in 2024. This is a significant increase from the 82,880 Express Entry candidates that the IRCC had aimed to target in the year 2023.
However, it is important to note that not all the candidates invited in 2024 will be admitted before the year ends. Some of them, especially those invited later in the year, will arrive in 2025. This is because the IRCC has a standard of six months to issue a final decision on Express Entry applications for permanent residency. In 2023, the IRCC issued over 100,000 invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Express Entry candidates.
Express Entry Program
Express Entry (EE) is an online system for immigration applications, providing individuals the opportunity to submit their profiles for consideration as skilled immigrants. The selection process prioritizes candidates with the highest rankings, who are subsequently invited to apply for permanent residency. The Express Entry Program was introduced by the Canadian Government in 2015 to tackle the skilled labor shortage in Canada. The old Canada Immigration System was slow and had a lot of backlogs. The sole purpose of the new system is to immigrate skilled professionals in a faster way. The Express Entry system has now become the most popular immigration system globally.
